Ludensemble’s Debut Album "Dream Sequence of an Ancient Forest" Released
On 30 January, Ludensemble’s debut album Dream Sequence of an Ancient Forest, featuring music by composer Madli Marje Gildemann, was released on the Kairos label.
Madli Marje Gildemann’s Dream Sequence of an Ancient Forest brings together works from 2017 to 2023 in a dramaturgical arc shaped by precise observation and a freely flowing imagination. Her atmospheric, finely detailed sound world moves between scientific accuracy, natural phenomena, and mythological transformation. The album leads listeners from the secret processes of plants and the nocturnal journeys of birds to a primeval forest’s dreamlike consciousness and the animated presence of a human-made machine. Across these contrasting environments, Gildemann reveals delicate rhythms, hidden movements, and phenomena our senses often fail to notice.
The album was supported by the Estonian Authors’ Society and the Estonian Cultural Endowment.
